CURRENT AMOUNT RAISED @ 26th October 2020
£5000.00 (Inc CASC)
On the 6th July Mal & Geoff had a meeting with Total Play Ltd ( https://total-play.co.uk/who ) are a specialist Cricket Net manufacturer and installer. At this meeting a huge amount was discussed and they agreed that our nets are "Not fit for purpose". They went away and have sent us a detailed proposal and drawings that you can read and study at your leisure below. We are sure you will all agree that they look spectacular and would be the icing on the cake for our great club. Not only would it give the existing juniors & seniors a state of the art facility to train in there is no doubt it would attract new players young and old to the club. As a club we want to encourage boys, girls, men & women from every part of our community and every background and this would be a huge draw to prospective new members.
All sounds great so far...................................however, the cost of this would be £40,792.00 + VAT. An eye watering amount but not insurmountable if we ALL pitch in and do what we can. We have already approached a couple of funding providers and are hopeful of getting a big chunk towards the cost. We have also had our first pledge of £1,000.00 courtesy of a local resident that Mal spoke to on Saturday 1st August and is a friend of Geoff.
In an ideal world we want these new nets up and running for next season which is very ambitious but again doable. At worst we want them for the start of the 2022 season.
So what can we all do to help.....?
As a committee we are absolutely determined to get this done and need everyone's help. If anyone wants to contribute please, please, please speak to any one of the committee or send an email to the club email address. We need to make sure all the events that we have planned are full so we maximise revenue at every turn. We have set up a separate account solely for the Nets fundraising so at all times you will know that any money for nets is "Ring Fenced".
If anyone has any links to companies who need to demonstrate their "Social Responsibility" as they have money put aside for local community projects. Local Councillors, MP's etc, etc are again a good avenue to get funding. Sponsored walks, sponsored runs, cake sales.....there really is nothing we shouldn't try to make the dream a reality.
LET'S ALL WORK TOGETHER AND HAVE A STATE OF THE ART FACILITY THAT WE CAN ALL ENJOY!!!!
